Lloyd John Kopisch of Longmont, died October 10, 2013 at the Peaks Care Center. He was born on October 24, 1917 in Bladen, Nebraska, the son of Ida (Fassler) and Albert Kopisch. Following his high school education Lloyd attended college in Sheridan, Wyoming prior to entering the United States Army
Air Force. On August 29, 1947 Lloyd married Constance "Connie" Murray in Raton, New Mexico.
Lloyd retired from his finance job with the U.S. Government and moved to Longmont in 1973 from Sturgis, South Dakota after living in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Des Moines, Iowa. Lloyd was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and participated in a number of Boulder and Longmont stamp clubs. He also enjoyed a round of golf as time allowed.
Survivors include his daughter Sherry Sendon and her husband George of Montana and one grandson Stephen R. Sendon and his wife Dawn and their children Alison and Ashley.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Connie Kopisch, his brother Roy Kopisch and his sister Goldie Watson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17 from 9:00 until 12:00 noon at the Howe Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont.
