Anna Ruth (Presler) Mehring Obituary
Anna Ruth Mehring, 90, longtime area resident, died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Ebeb-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.
Ruth was born December 8, 1926 in a sod house, in the Shaw, Colorado area: delivered at home by her grandmother. Parents were Francis and Anna (Sutten) Presler.
She married Joseph August Mehring on August 17, 1948 in Akron at Saint JosephÕs Catholic Church. Joe passed away in 1975.
Ruth was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at Saint JosephÕs. Family was most important, along with playing cards, reading, and needle work. She worked at the National Biscuit Company, HawkinsonÕs Cleaners, Merry Maids, and for the last 26 years as a rural mail carrier.
Survivors include, her sons, Bill Mehring (Nancy) of Freeport, Illinois, Anthony Mehring of Fort Morgan, daughters, Kathy Mehring (Johnny Bob) of Hillrose, Leone Smelser, Mary Jeanne Anderson (Dave), and Anna Marie Cottrell (Billy) all of Fort Morgan, sister-in-law, Lorraine (Presler) Bigley of Independence, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, grandson, Joseph Smelser, great grandson, Davien Santisteven, son-in-law, Charlie Smelser; her parents, sisters, Shirley Wyckoff, and Margery Boyer and brother, Francis Pressler.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 3 until 6 pm followed by a Rosary Vigil at 6:00 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 18, 2017 at 10:00 am at Saint HelenaÕs Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow at Saint JosephÕs Cemetery in Akron.
