Buelah Mae (Hinton) Krause Obituary
Buelah Mae (Hinton) Krause was born on December 24, 1928 in Brush, CO to Jess and Clara (Chapman) Hinton.
Buelah's family moved from Brush to Ft. Lupton where she attended several years of grade school. Her father worked for the railroad and they eventually moved to Akron, sometime after her mother's death when Buelah was 9 years old. She graduated from Akron High School in 1946.
Buelah married her husband of 69 years, William J. Krause on August 22, 1946 in St. Francis, KS. They have four daughters, Janet, Rebecca, Gayle and Jewel. Bill and Buelah resided in Akron for 67 years and lived the past two years in Brush at the Eben Ezer Assisted Living facility.
Buelah enjoyed many hobbies over the years including walking, cooking, baking, playing cards with her girlfriends and crocheting afghans. She crocheted 64 afghans from 1980-2010 including one for every grandchild's high school graduation and a baby afghan for every great grandchild. She served as the Treasurer of the Akron Presbyterian Church from 1983 to 2006. Buelah did all of the bookwork for the businesses that she and Bill had including their farm, Krause Construction and the Variety Theatre.
Buelah was very active with her children, helping the girls with school, church and 4-H projects and later spending quality time with her grandchildren. She and Bill enjoyed family gatherings, dancing, traveling and following their grandsons' high school athletic programs.
After Buelah's father remarried Susie Compton later in life, Buelah acquired a large step-family whom she and Bill shared many happy times with over the years.
Buelah passed away at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush, CO on December 16, 2015 at age 86.
Buelah is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Krause; parents, Jess K. and Clara Hinton, Step Mother, Susie Hinton, her brothers Wilbert Hinton (Pearl), Logan Hinton (Sue), Harley Hinton (Joy) and her sister Gladys Hinton.  She is survived by her children: Janet Riebesehl (Gary); Becky Ponda (Tony); Gayle Domingue (Jeff) and Jewel Vaughn (Ken); 11 grandchildren: Teresa Marston, Amy Butler (Mike), Lance McCracken (Rhonda), Ryan Billingsley, Frank "JR" McCracken (Vanessa), Kacie Vaughn-Beck (Dan), Neil Vaughn (Jessica), Lauren Billingsley, Ryan Nesbitt, Heather Freeman (Jim) and Brett Ponda (Sarah); 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A combined memorial service will be held for Buelah and her husband Bill on January 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Akron. Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Akron or the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.
