Christopher Eskew Obituary
Christopher Eskew, 24 of Akron, passed away on October 6, 2017 at Sterling Regional MedCenter.
Christopher Lee Eskew was born in Sterling, Colorado on May 13, 1993 to Roy and Tina.
Chris attended Akron Grade School and was a graduate of Akron High School. While in school, he was active in wrestling, baseball, and basketball. During his last year of high school, he and Beth welcomed their daughter Zoei into their family.
Chris loved to go hunting, enjoyed golfing, looking for arrowheads with his daughter Zoei and his dad. When he wasn't outdoors, Chris loved to draw and write poetry, and was tech savvy. Other interests included construction and computers.
He wanted to go to school for counseling troubled youth. He was active on the Otis Volunteer Fire Department for a year and a half.
Chris enjoyed his time in Oregon visiting Crater Lake, Devil's Punch Bowl and the beaches.
He was always willing to come to the aid of other individuals, especially family members, at any expense, putting them before himself. He was a very gifted person. He also enjoyed bowling very much. There are many, many more things that could be said, but if you knew him, you would understand.
Chris was a friend to many … his smile was contagious, his laugh made others laugh. He was tender, loving, a beautiful soul, a beautiful man, son, father, brother and uncle.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Ina Eskew and Nancy Skelton; uncles, Elmer Eskew, Roger Eskew, and Rick Eskew.
He is survived by his father, Roy and wife Carolyn of Akron; his mother, Tina and husband Jim Jaquith of Oregon; daughter Zoei of Fort Morgan; brothers, Wayne Eskew of Severance and Douglas Wahl of Johnstown; sisters, Megan Kraft of Oregon and Kathy Wahl of Sterling; nieces and nephews, Alize, Kristel, Daiman, Adrian, Ruth Ann, Robert, Michael, and Sophia Grace. He is also survived by uncle, Ron and wife Maggie Eskew; uncle, Mike and wife Linda Eskew; uncle, Steve and wife Deanna Eskew; uncle, Ben Eskew; uncle, Chris Skelton; aunt, Peggy and husband Leonard O'Connor; aunt, Cindy and husband Gordon Thompson;, aunt, Bev Eskew; aunt, Kate and husband Saul Castillo; and great-aunt, Sally Wisely; as well as many cousins and step-brothers.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bowin Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Foursquare Church of Akron.
Donations can be made in Chris' memory to the Otis Volunteer Fire Department, 409 W. 5th Ave., Otis, Colorado 80743.
