Clara P. (Walczwyk) Lowman Obituary
Clara P. Lowman, 92, a long-time resident of Deming until 2012, had passed away in Sandy, UT, on November 19, 2015. For the last couple of years, she struggled with dementia and heart issues.
A burial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at the Abbot Church in Lindon, Colorado. Chaplain Charles Lowman, grandson, will officiate.
Clara was born in Abbott, CO, on November 2, 1923, to Paul Walczyk and Klara Bartsch. She had 11 brothers and sisters. On January 28, 1942, she married Melvin Dawl Lowman. They had three sons and one daughter. Clara was a devout Catholic and very active at Holy Family Catholic Church in Deming, NM. She volunteered her time where she was needed; as a CCD instructor, with the annual Klobase Festival, with the Altar Society and the Divine Mercy; or being there for her family, community, neighbors and friends. She always had a positive outlook on life, a smile for all and always showed her appreciation to those that took care of her. Everyone she interacted with, felt her warmth.
Survivors include sons, Wayne Melvin and wife, Caroline of Reno, NV, Gary Paul and wife, Geneta of Portales, NM, and Dean Albert of Littleton, CO; daughter, Judy Marie Vreeke and husband, John of Sandy, UT; brothers, Anton, Lukus, Emil, Frank, Paul and Herman Walczyk and sisters, Cecilia Kalous, Pauline Frenzl and Sister Angeline Walczyk; nine grandchildren, Linda Hess, Karin Peternal, Chaplain Charles Lowman, US Army; Christopher, Edward, Mathew and Ashely Lowman, Brittney and Terra Holman, and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Melvin; siblings, Sylvester Walczyk and MaryAnn (Walczyk) Green; and grandson, Chad William Lowman.
Her family will always be grateful for the wonderful care she received at Alta View Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center and Health South Rehabilitation Center in Sandy, Utah.
