Darlene Kraich, age 66, was called home to the Lord December 15, 2016 with the comfort of loved ones by her side.

Darlene was born to Otto and Anna Serl on April 3, 1950 in Akron, Colorado. She grew up on the family farm with her brothers and sister. Darlene attended the Akron schools and graduated in 1968. In January of 1968 she married Larry Monat. They lived in Fort Hood, Texas, Sterling and Akron, Colorado. They had two children Angela and Trevor.

The next chapter started on August 4, 1995 when she married Ron Kraich Jr. Ron and Darlene made their home in Akron, Colorado.

Darlene was a very successful business woman with many endeavors. A few of her biggest business accomplishments were Advance Tek Janitorial Services and real estate. She was also the President of the Akron Alumni for many years. Darlene's most rewarding fulfillment in her life were her two children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the rest of her family.

Darlene spent her free time camping, boating, playing cards, napping, crafting, wood working, canning, being with her three Yorkies (Opie, Andy, and Barney) and spending time with her family.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Anna Serl, brother Dewain Serl in infancy, sister Diana Serl in infancy, mother-in-law Veda Kraich, and numerous aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her husband Ron Kraich Jr., brother Delmar Serl, sister Dorene and husband Clifford Sharp, brother Don Serl, daughter Angela and husband Jimmy Archer, their children Brittany and husband Alex Pietrafeso and son Ryder and daughter Remee, Ashley and husband Garret Burke and daughter Bristall, Caley Archer and son Miles Lucero, Son Trevor and wife Kari Monat and their daughters Lilly and Gracie, and father-in-law Ron Kraich Sr.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Akron, Colorado. Interment followed at the Akron Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Yorkshire Terrier Rescue, or to the .
