Delmar "Del" Anderson Obituary
Delmar  Anderson, 86, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died November 13, 2015 in Gothenburg, NE.  
 
Delmar Anderson was born to Henning G. and Alice (Sreves) Anderson on February 14, 1929.  He grew up in Wild Horse Valley, attending Svea Dahl Church and working for farmers in the valley. 
 
Delmar graduated from Milwaukee Bible College in 1950 and was united in marriage to Pauline Pike on July 8, at Newaygo, MI. 
 
March 1, 1951 Del and Pauline left the US to begin a 9 year service in the Congo. Del was involved with agriculture, youth ministries, pastoral training and station maintenance.  In 1960 the family moved to Denver, Co.  Del entered the sales field and spent one year as interim pastor at Derby Community Church.  He received a call to pastor the Cope Community Church in Eastern Colorado and remained there for 7 years.  During this time, he received his Ordination to the Ministry by the Grace Gospel Fellowship in Grand Rapids, MI.  
 
Delmar then returned to sales and was available as a supply pastor for several churches in Eastern Colorado.  In 1982 he was called to be the visitation pastor for Grace Memorial Church in Denver, and later assumed the Senior Pastor responsibility. While in Denver he attended classes at Denver Seminary.
 
In 1994 Del and Pauline retired and moved to the Wild Horse Valley, restoring the house Del was born in.  He enjoyed country life doing carpentry work and serving as a supply pastor.  They moved to Gothenburg in 2006 and lived there before spending his final years at Hilltop Estates.
 
He is survived by Pauline, his wife of 65 years, five daughters: Susan Magnuson of Eaton, CO; Donna (Fred) Priest of Orlando, FL; Coni (Randy) Darling of Ault, CO; Dotty (Dale) Wheatley of Union, WA; and Deanna Anderson of Brady. Eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, a sister, a brother, along with extended family and friends.
 
He was preceded in death by one daughter Alyce Cristine, his parents, grand daughter Jordanne Gerbing, son-in-law Ted Magnuson, five brothers, two sisters-in-laws and two brother-in-laws.
 
Memorial Services will be held at Evangelical Free Church, 1721  Lake Ave, Gothenburg, NE, on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Pastors Fred Priest and Ken Sawyer officiating.
