Donald James "Jim" Stephenson Obituary
Donald James Stephenson (Jim), 70 resident of Akron, CO peacefully
passed away with his 3 children by his side on Thursday, January 29,
2015 in Loveland, CO.
Jim was born in Rocky Ford, CO on August 4, 1944 to Charles and June
(Steele) Stephenson. He grew up in South Eastern Colorado with 9
siblings. He attended high school in Pueblo CO where he met and
married his high school sweetheart Kathy Reynolds. They had 3 children
Donald Keith, Danna Kay, and Darla Kay.
Jim drove truck, farmed, and ranched in Pueblo for 13 years until he
moved his family to Akron in 1975. Jim then began the life he loved of
wheat farming and cattle ranching for Starlin Farms. Jim retired in
January, 2014 after 39 years of hard work and dedication.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Janette Smith, Joan
Stephenson, and brothers: Junior and Jay Stephenson. He is survived by
his 3 children: Don (Julie) Stephenson of Akron, CO; Danna (Tom)
Krause of Fort Collins, CO; Darla (Gary) Stephenson of Wichita, KS; 6
Grandchildren Colton (Sayde) Stephenson, Kodie (Cody) Stephenson,
Derrek Jacobsen, Karissa Jacobsen, Evann Jacobsen, Huldon Tharp; 1
Great Grandson Blaine Kloberdanz; Sisters Jeanie (Gordon) Carlson,
Jackie Bishop, Junie (Charles) Webb, Joyce Stephenson and brother
Jerry (Karen) Stephenson, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Jim's services were held at the Akron Foursquare Church on Tuesday,
February 3rd at 10:00 am. Inurnment followed at the Akron Cemetery.
