Fred Wallace Taylor Obituary
Fred Wallace Taylor, age 79, was called home to the Lord February 26th 2016 with the comfort of loved ones by his side.
Fred was born to Fred and Claudia Taylor in West Monroe, Louisiana. He grew up and attended school in West Monroe. He later joined the United States Army after fibbing about his age to enlist at the age of 17. He spent 3 years enlisted as a Paratrooper. After an honorable discharge, Fred started his career in the oil field which allowed him to travel to various countries. His adventures in the oil field brought him to Akron, Colorado where he met the love of his life, Jeannie Taylor. Together they raised 7 children. Even after he retired from the oil field, he still loved working in his shed and visiting with customers who supported his can business. He also enjoyed working at Aerospray and Scott Aviation.
Fred loved fishing, taking his grandchildren hunting for night crawlers, watching baseball & football, spending time in his shed and playing with his great grandchildren. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping and hunting with his family and friends.
Fred was preceeded in death by his wife of 46 years, Jeannie Taylor; his Mother and Father; sister, Marie; daughters, Cathrine Taylor and Theresa Carter; and son, Mark Taylor.
He is survived by his sisters, Lulu Brent and Chris and husband Bob Horton; sons, Fred and wife Nicole Taylor and Michael Taylor; daughters, Sharon and husband David Meyers, Peggy and husband Gene Serl; and son-in-law Kevin Carter. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Natasha and husband Madison Livesay, Andrea Johnson, Vicki Serl, Valerie and husband Daniel Cottman, Vanessa and husband Kyle Zimmerman, Valicia Serl, Destawny Taylor, Samantha Meyers, Fred and wife Katherine Taylor, Jeremy Taylor, Mackinzie Taylor, Chris Carter and Aaron Carter; great-grandchildren, Kendal, Tori, Taylor, Micah, Xavier, Jakzon, Kyesyn, Payke, Eliana, Ava, Aiden and Remi.
Fred was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service was held at Bowin Funeral Home in Akron, CO. Memorial donations may be made to the Akron VFW.
