Gwenyth Norene "Gwen" (Maggard) Rantschler Obituary
Gwenyth Norene Maggard Rantschler was born July 2, 1921 to Charles E. and Cora A. (Simmons) Maggard at DeNova, Colorado.
She attended White Rose Elementary School and graduated from High Prairie High School.
Gwen went to Denver to cosmetology school with her sister Norma and stayed in the Denver area from then on. She had numerous jobs, and retired from the Woolworth Company as a bookkeeper after many years of service to them.
Gwen was united in marriage to Frank Rantschler on October 3, 1981, and they continued to live in Englewood. They shared many happy times camping and fishing together.
She enjoyed working in her yard, taking pride in the compliments that she received regarding her lawn and flowers. She was particularly proud of her beautiful peony bush.
Members of her family preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Cora Maggard; her husband, Frank; her sister, Verneal Love; her brother, Blaine Maggard; her sister, Norma Thim.
She is survived by her sister Marsolie Perry of Aurora, Colorado, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
There was a Memorial Service on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Yuma Cemetery with Marcia Muir officiating. Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
