James Henry Clark, Sr., 84, died on June 8 at the Washington County Nursing Home in Akron after a battle with liver cancer. Jim (or Gus to his friends) was born on March 16, 1930 in Canandaigua, New York.

They are survived by daughter Joy Thompson and four grandchildren, Steve, Jayden, Lexi and Aesa of Grand Junction; son, James Clark Jr. of Akron; daughter Julie Thomas and son-in-law, Alan Thomas of Denver. Jim is survived by his sister Norene Kennelly and family of Fairport, New York. Joyce is survived by sister, Donna Nelson; two brothers, Dale and Kenneth Nelson and many cousins.
A service was held Wednesday, June 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Washington County Nursing Home, 465 Main Street, Akron, CO 80720. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Washington County Nursing Home; Attn: Dani Thomson, so they can continue the terrific care they provide to residents.
