Judith Marie "Judy" (Covelli) Hall Obituary
Judith "Judy" Marie (Covelli) Hall, formerly of Akron, Colorado, passed away September 2, 2013 in Tempe, Arizona at the age of 90.
Judy was born to Ilario and Beatrice (Salvodelli) Covelli on November 2, 1922 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. Her parents were immigrants from Songavazzo, Italy. Judy was one of seven children raised on the farm they homesteaded near Weldona, Colorado.
After graduating from high school in Ft. Morgan, Judy moved there and worked as a telephone operator. In 1953 she married Thomas Patrick "Pat" Hall and moved to Akron where they raised their two children, Thomas "Tom" Patrick Hall, Jr. and Debra "Debbie" Anne (Hall) Bensel. After Pat's death in 1999, Judy moved to Tempe, Arizona where she resided until her death.
Judy and Pat were active members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Akron where Judy sang in the choir and served in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was very active in the Alpha Nu Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and maintained lifelong friendships with many of her sorority sisters.
Judy loved spending time with her family and friends, dancing with Pat, and playing in a variety of card clubs. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed trying new recipes out on her guests. She loved to go places and was always ready for a new adventure, whether across town or halfway across the world.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pat, her parents, Ilario and Beatrice, and her siblings Andrena, Bert, Dominick, Mary, Louie, Gloria, and Guido.
She is survived by her son, Tom Hall and wife, Peggy, their children, Brooke Hall and her son Tristan, and Steven Hall, all of Akron, and Kaitlin (Hall) Belsky and husband Peter Belsky of Denver; and by her daughter, Debbie, and husband, Brien, and their sons, Aaron, Patrick, Mark, and Eric Bensel, all of Tempe, Arizona.
A Rosary Vigil was held Friday, September 6, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., and the Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Akron.
