Kenneth Andrew ""Ken"" Bauer Obituary
Kenneth Andrew Bauer, 88, of Akron Colorado, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at his home.

Kenneth was born November 17, 1927 in Dunlap, Iowa, to Andrew and Bernadine (Book) Bauer. He was the youngest of 7 children.

He attended and graduated high school in Dunlap, Iowa.

Following graduation he worked for a Ford garage in Dunlap.

On April 27, 1951 he was united in marriage to Betty Manchester in Dunlap. Ken and Betty lived in Dunlap until the spring of 1952 when they moved to Akron, Colorado.

Kenneth worked for a local garage in Akron for several years until he went to work for Dansdill Implement and after its sale, Fetzer Implement (John Deere), until the late 1980s. He then was employed at C.N. Yeamans & Son Hardware until his retirement.

Kenneth was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus council 3543. He held many leadership roles, including Grand Knight. He was a member in Pitch and Pinochle clubs, and he enjoyed bowling in the Monday Night Men's League. He enjoyed playing handheld video games like solitaire and poker. He also enjoyed watching sports.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers, and his wife Betty. He is survived by his four children; Kent Bauer of Brush; Kyle and Kenne Bauer of Akron; Kurt Bauer and wife Dayna Bauer of Conroe, Texas; and four grandchildren, Zachery Bauer, Aaron Bauer, Seth Bauer, and Nikki Jameson, and three great grandchildren; Riley Bauer, Breyden Jameson and Nolan Gulley.

Memorial contributions in Kenneth's name may be made to the Knights of Columbus Council #3543 scholarship fund in Akron, Colorado.

A funeral mass was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Akron Colorado at 10:30 a.m., Saturday April 30, 2016. Interment followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
