Mary Jane was the oldest of four children born on January 26, 1941 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. Her, her brother, her sisters and a few neighbor kids enjoyed riding their horses in the wild cat canyons. They had many adventures growing up including her and her siblings trying to get a chicken out of an outhouse and it ending in flames. Another memory she talked about was when her sisters and a neighbor girl went skinny dipping. Mary was supposed to be the lookout and didn't do a very good job at it, they were busted. Mary also enjoyed taking family vacations with her Dad, Mom and siblings. Mary graduated from Ft. Morgan High School 1960 and moved to Arvada and worked for Dow Chemical's in Rocky Flats. She met the love of her life Delmar Serl and was married on March 15, 1963. Their first home as a married couple was in Arvada, Colorado for a short period of time before they made their home in Otis, Colorado. Their family grew and they were blessed with Eugene in 1964 and Ronald in 1965. Mary was always a hard and dedicated worker. She pursued a career in book keeping. Mary worked at Yeamans in Akron for numerous years. She then took on a new adventure at the Otis School District and retired from Audubon Park in 2003. Mary always kept herself busy with horse racing and helping her husband tend to their family farm where she helped raise cattle, pigs, milk cows and bottle calves. In the later years Mary and Delmar enjoyed traveling coast to coast, four wheeling in the Rocky Mountains and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
