Maude E. (Harbert) Miller Obituary
Maude (Harbert) Miller, 95, of Greeley, CO formerly of Last Chance and Anton communities passed away February 25, 2014 at Life Care Center in Greeley.
She was born November 25, 1918 in Last Chance, Co to Essa and Bernice (Metz) Harbert.  Maude was educated in the Woodrow area and continued her education graduating from college in 1940 from Colorado Teacher's College (now UNC).  She began teaching shortly after graduating in a one-room schoolhouse.  On November 1, 1940 Maude married Walter Edward Miller in Snyder, CO.   They resided east of Anton, CO where they ranched and farmed.
They raised three children, Judith Uhrig, Janet Todd, and John Miller.  While their children were in school Maude taught at Lindon High School and Akron High School.  Later she became an assistant Post Master at the Anton Post Office.  They lived many happy years in the Anton and Last Chance areas.  Edward passed away February 28, 2000.  As Maude's health began to fail in 2008 she moved to the Bridge Assisted Living Center, MeadowView of Greeley and Life Care Center.
Maude is survived by daughters, Judith (Roy) Uhrig, Janet (Rudy) Todd; son, John Miller; grandchildren, Anthony Asbury, Anita Brandenburg, Angela Cochran, Mark Todd, Rena Reynalds, Amy Hays, and Karl Uhrig; 12 great grandchildren, three great-great grandsons; a sister-in-law; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Jay Miller; infant great grandson, Logan Uhrig; and brothers, Charlie Harbert and Wayne Harbert.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2014 at Adamson Chapel.
