Olive (Briard) Daniels Obituary
Olive Daniels, 93, of Greeley, passed away on May 19, 2013. She was born on July 15, 1919 in Stanton County, Nebraska to Elmer G. and Ruth Francis (Clark) Briard. She married Richard A. Daniels, Sr. October 25, 1938 in Nebraska He passed December 30, 1993.
Olive moved from Nebraska to Akron, Colorado in September of 1942 to the original Daniels Homestead where they were engaged in farming and ranching for 30 years, prior to moving and retiring to Greeley in 1972.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron and Gloria Christi in Greeley. She was active in the Butte Home Demonstration Club, Ladies Aide Society at church, volunteered at RSVP (14 years) and was a member of the Dynamic Maturity Group at Gloria Christi.
She was a homemaker and housewife. She was an excellent cook, loved to bake, embroider and was a beautiful cake decorator. She loved bird watching, hiking, travel and she loved shoes!
Olive is survived by her children; Beverly (David) Gebauer, Longmont, CO; Bonnie Massey and Don Parcels, Loveland, CO; Richard Daniels, Jr., Akron, CO; and Robert (Sally) E. Daniels, Ignacio, CO; grandchildren, David Anthony (Debbie) Gebauer, Douglas Kevin Gebauer, Daniel Jeffrey (Samantha) Gebauer, Diana Renae Arrington, Robert Duane (Cindy) Ververs, Michael Ray (Janice) Ververs, Andrea Michelle Swayze, Tamela Suzette (David) Brown, Monica Renae (Ted) Mika, Rena Raquel (Darren) Baessler, Angeloa (Mark) Kleven and Joanna (Jeff) Williams; 33 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin brother, Charles Briard, four older brothers and five older sisters, son-in-law Don Rose and granddaughter-in-law, Vicki Anderson Gebauer.
A visitation was held from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23 at the Allnut Macy Chapel. Services were at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 24 at Gloria Christi Lutheran Church. Internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
