Olive ""Ollie"" (Crossley) Irvine Obituary
Olive was born to Lee Colvin and Becky (Perry) Crossley in Quinton, Oklahoma, May 31, 1921. The oldest of nine children, Ollie spent her early years helping care for her brothers and sisters on their family farm near Stonewall, Oklahoma until her marriage to Woodrow Wilson Boles.
Ollie, Will and their children made their home in Akron, Colorado after an oil field accident left Will disabled and unable to work outside the home. Ollie was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Akron. She worked at Rexall Drug, Schafer Drug and as a caregiver for numerous families in the Akron area in addition to the upholstery business she and Will did together.
Ollie and Will moved from Akron to the home they built outside Gore, Oklahoma n 1982 where she cared for Will until his death in 1986. Ollie later remarried, offering companionship and loving end of life care to John Irvine, who also preceded her in death. Ollie remained at her home near Gore until failing health forced her to move to Oklahoma City in 2011, where she resided until the end of her life. Ollie passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013.
A graveside service was held Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma with Ollie's long time friend, Pastor Paul Whitlock officiating; and professional services by Barnes Friederich Funeral Home, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Ollie was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; younger sister; brothers Ernest and John Crossley; brother-in-law, William Sadler; and the love of her life, husband Woodrow Wilson Boles.
Ollie is survived by daughter, Virginia and husband Gaston Munoz, El Paso, Texas; son Rodney and wife, Linda Boles, Canyon City, Colorado; grandson Terry Vaughn, Akron, Colorado; granddaughter, Tammy Curtis, Yuma, Colorado; sister Kathryn Sadler, Midwest City, Oklahoma; brothers, Daniel and wife Jean Crossley, Moore, Oklahoma, Lee and wife Nina Crossley, Del City, Oklahoma; Jimmy and wife Jackie Crossley, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two step grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
