Rebecca Lynn ""Becky"" (Brandon) Bonin Obituary
Rebecca Lynn (Brandon) Bonin, age 56, of Northglenn, Colorado, went to her final resting place after a long battle with MS, on May 24, 2016. Rebecca was born on August 13, 1959 to parents John and Alvina Brandon. She was raised in Akron Colorado where she attended school from kindergarten through High School and graduated with the class of 1977. While attending school Rebecca was active in; 4-H, Student Council, ICC, JUGS, Drama, Action Learning, Annual Staff, Newspaper, Pep Club, JV Cheerleader, Ram Mascot and Pom Pon. After graduating Rebecca worked at local Akron hardware stores (Gambles and ACE), the Health Department of North Eastern Colorado in Sterling, Colorado, Scuba Schools Internation in Ft. Collins, Colorado, SCCA Pro Racing in Ft. Collins, Colorado and at Kone Elevators in Denver, Colorado before being stricken by MS. Rebecca married Christopher Bonin of Ft. Collins on January 5, 1986.
The last eight years of Rebecca's life was spent in the Avamere Rehab Nursing Home where the staff called Rebecca their Angel. The Nursing staff stated Rebecca always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes. In the last remaining years Rebecca's only form of communication was through a laptop. Rebecca always kept her faith in the Lord as noted by the picture of Jesus on the wall next to her bed.
Rebecca was preceded in death by son Elijah Raymond Bonin on January 20, 1988.
Rebecca was survived by parents John and Alvina Brandon, siblings Mike Brandon, Gary Brandon, Tim and Ilene Brandon, Kathleen and Todd Forsythe, nieces and nephews; Jeremy Brandon, Amy Brandon, Heather Brandon, Kevin and Cara Brandon, Valerie and Tony Jones, Brett Forsythe, Wesley Forsythe and Curtis Forsythe; Great nieces and nephews; Jacob Brandon, Briana Jones, Tony Jones the III, Makayla Brandon and Zachary Brandon.
A Rosary was held Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Joseph's. Interment followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
