Ruth Aldean (Howell) Bradney Obituary
Ruth Aldean Bradney, age 88, of Akron, CO, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by family, Friday, April 1, 2016 in Brush, CO. She was born on April 15, 1927 in Yuma, CO to Jake Finley Howell and Ruth Elmina (Jewell) Howell. She spent her youth in Otis and Yuma, CO, graduating from Yuma High School in 1945.  She used to talk about crawling under the trains to get to school. After graduating she began working in the County Clerk's Office of Akron, CO and then worked at the Citizens National Bank.

On September 17, 1950 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Forrest Bradney in Akron, CO, where they spent their entire life farming and raising their family.  Aldean was a bit hesitant at first about what farm life would entail, but after the move to the farm south of Akron , she settled right in and really loved the farm life. They moved to their present home in 1956. To this union were born three daughters and a son, Debra, Julie, Mark and Beverly.

When Aldean was younger, dancing, sewing, and spending time outside taking care of her flowers and vegetable garden were just a few of her passions when she was not focusing on her children or grandchildren. As the children moved out and began their families, Aldean loved to travel and go to Blackhawk and play the video poker machines with her glass of wine. She also really loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at every chance she could and was always making delicious, homemade meals for them. As you left her home she would always say, "Come back real soon" with a big hug.

Aldean is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Kenneth of Akron;  her four children, Debra Diane Gilbert (Marvin) of Ft. Lupton, CO, Julie Dawn Brown (Leo) of Parker, CO, Mark Troy Bradney (Julie) of Akron, CO, Beverly Kayle Knutzen (Bruce) of Akron, CO.; her 7 grandchildren, Christopher Kenneth Gilbert (Alexandria) of Longmont, CO, Andrew Jonathan Gilbert of Mead, CO, Quentin Troy Brown (Kristen) of Broomfield, CO, Loni Tyanna Revercomb (Matthew) of Aurora, CO, Emerald Lea Barrington (Michael) of Bradley, OK, Derek Wesley Knutzen of Akron, CO and Darin Wade Knutzen of Akron, CO.; and her 9 great-grandchildren, Sophia and Chloe Gilbert, Troy and Addie Brown, Garrett, Greyson, and Kynleigh Revercomb, and Jade and Carter Barrington. Also, surviving are her brother, Donald Howell, and sisters, Charlean Warren and Shirley Perrin.
