Shane Lee Walker Obituary
Shane Lee Walker was born June 5, 1969 to Ed and Karen Walker in Castro Valley, California. He passed away April 12, 2015 at his home in Greeley, Colorado.
Shane started school in Brush, then attended in California and graduated from High School in just 3 years. During high school, Apple computers were made available and he served as a teacherÕs Aid in the 5th Grade class and in after-school computer club. He learned to write programs, build graphic designs and games and would help the other students.
After graduating High School, Shane worked at the University of California, Davis campus doing computer related work in their research lab. He also worked as a consultant for the School District Office to help staff set up their computer systems. He went on to earn a degree in CADD, Computer Aided Design and Drafting.
After moving back to Colorado in 1989 he worked as a graphic designer and had his own business, SW Graphic Creations. He created plaques, fliers, greeting cards, logos, invitations, announcements, and business cards for clients, family and friends. He also used his creative abilities in architectural designs such as Craftsman style cabinets and the unique front door and fachia for their home.
When Shane was growing up he came almost every summer to Colorado to spend time with family in Akron, Brush and Denver. He enjoyed hosting big family get together's for birthdays and holidays. He loved computers, fireworks, LegoÕs, jigsaw puzzles, video and board games, golf and RC planes and cars. Shane learned to play cribbage with his Grandpa Lee and still enjoyed playing with his Dad and brother.
Shane was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Jake and Anna Walker of Hillrose and maternal grandfather Marvin Lee of Brush. He is survived by mother Karen Walker, of Greeley, father Ed Walker, brother Troy and sister-in-law Heidi Walker of California, his grandmother Phyllis Lee, and godson Reed Christensen of Akron, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Shane was truly loved by all!
A graveside service and celebration of ShaneÕs life was held Saturday, May 2, 2015 in Akron, Colorado.
