Veda Maxine Ross was born April 26, 1932 to Harley and Velma Ross in Logan, Kansas.
Veda attended school at Portlidge in Logan, KS, where she graduated from the eighth grade in 1947. She wanted to attend high school, but was unable as she was needed at home to help on the farm and take care of her younger siblings: Harvey, Wayne, Elvin, and Lois.
She moved with her family to Akron, Colorado in 1950 where she met her future husband Ronald Kraich. They were married at the United Methodist Church on June 28, 1952. This union lasted 62 years. To this union, four sons were born.
Raising four boys was a challenging job, but she enjoyed every minute of it. Her family was the most important part of her life. She was very happy as each grandchild was born, and enjoyed hours spoiling them. She will always be remembered by her family for the loving way she cared for them and the quality time she gave to them.
Veda was active in the community with Beta Sigma Phi Society and she was den mother for Boy Scouts for years. Veda faithfully attended church every week, was active in all her church activities, always helping wherever she could give her time and talents. Veda worked at Schaffer Drugstore for several years before she started working for Woodie Bondhus at Skogmos Clothing Store, where she worked until the first Sterling Wal-Mart opened in 1985. She worked at Wal-Mart for 23 years, until her declining health forced her to retire. Veda was faithful to her job, and drove to work in all kinds of weather; she let nothing stop her from getting there on time.
She entered Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in May of 2012, where she lived until the time of her passing on July 1, 2014.
