Wilma Ruth (Wahl) Wade Obituary
Wilma Ruth Wahl Wade of Loveland, Colorado left this earth on August 22, 2013 after a short battle with lung cancer. Wilma was born February 9, 1939, the third child of six, in the family farm house in Isabella, Oklahoma to Raymond Mee Wahl Sr. and Ruth Abbott Wahl. In 1947 the family moved to a farm west of Akron, Colorado.
Wilma attended elementary school in a one-room school house just one-half mile from the family homestead, arriving either by foot or by horseback. She later attended the junior/senior high in the town of Akron, graduating in 1957.
In 1958 she met and married Quentin "Jerry" "Q.D." Dean Wade of Brush, Colorado and to their union three children were born, Jay Dee, Kelly Leann, and Delaney Alysa. The family moved to Loveland in 1968. Wilma and Q.D divorced in 1974 but remained friends and considered his family part of her own, remaining close to them.
She was employed with Hewlett-Packard from 1973 until her retirement in early 2000.
Wilma was very close with her children and had a hand in raising all five of her grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Wahl Sr., her mother Ruth Wahl, brothers Raymond Wahl Jr., Wayne Wahl, and Don Wahl, her sister Lois Jean Jones, and three nephews. She is survived by brother Ken (Marcelyn) Wahl of Akron, sisters-in-law Garland Wahl & Margie Louise Wahl of Akron, brother-in-law Larence Jones of Bennett, son Jay (Marsha) Wade of Johnstown, daughters Kelly (Scott) Martin of Fort Collins, Delaney Wade of Loveland, former daughter-in-law Jean Wade of Kamiah, Idaho, granddaughter Nicole (Bob) Thompson of Otis, grandsons Ryan (Bobbi) Martin of Loveland, Jared Martin and his girlfriend Ashleigh of Fort Collins, twins Dellyn and Dakota Wade of Kamiah, Idaho, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, former in-laws, and close friends.
A memorial service honoring her memory will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Timberline Church, South Auditorium, 2908 S. Timberline Rd., Fort Collins, CO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilma Wade Memorial Fund for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, % Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
