There was a viewing on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bowin Funeral Home in Akron, CO.
A Memorial Service is set for Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sterling, CO, with a viewing from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., at the Church.

Sharon was born to Maynard and Vera (Johnson) Brown on November 14, 1942, in San Diego, CA. At a very young age, she and her family moved to Clearwater, NE in 1945, where they lived for a few months and moved to Alboin, NE, where they stayed for eight years. They then moved on to Haxtun, CO for one year in 1954. Then in 1955, Sharon, her brother, Darrell, and their parents, moved to Yuma, CO, where they settled. Sharon attended school and graduated from Yuma. She completed two years at Parks Collage in Denver, CO.
On September 14, of 1962, Sharon married Larry Higgins of Yuma, CO. They moved to Akron CO, where they had three children; Kamala, Raymond and Christopher Higgins. Sharon started working in 1978 for Alfred Ward and Sons in the Yuma and Akron area for 15 to 20 years. Sharon moved from Akron in 1999, to Sterling, CO where she worked for RE-1 Valley School District for five to eight years. Then in 2003, Sharon went to work for the Department of Corrections as an Officer and then moved to an Administration position for nine years, where she retired and was enjoying her life with her family, friends and her Church.
Sharon is survived by her two sons and their families, Raymond (Ray) and Janean, Christopher (Chris) and Stephanie, one son-in-law, Jim Anderson, all of Sterling, CO; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell, and wife, Kathy (Roys) Brown of Benkelman, NE; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Dale and JoAnn (Higgins) Aageson, Elzene (Higgins) Sprouse, all of Yuma, CO; one aunt and one uncle, Gordon and Wilda (Johnson) Buckle of Columbus, NE; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sharon is preceded in death by her daughter, Kamala (Kami) Higgins-Anderson; her parents, Maynard and Vera Brown; grandparents; numerous aunts, uncles and some cousins.
