Neal, Haleigh Ann
On Saturday, June 20, 2015, our beautiful Haleigh Ann Neal left this earth to join her grandmother, Virginia Neal, and grandfather, Bernard Jacob, and became part of the heavens. We feel her presence now in the sunsets and the starlight of her vast New Mexico sky and feel her nourishing us in the rain she loved. Haleigh, the first sister in a fiercely close family, was born on February 28, 1996 at 1:01 p.m. to be followed at 1:02 p.m. that same day by her sister Megan Marie, and two years later by her baby sister, Sydney Jordan, to her adoring parents Chris and Kathi Neal of La Luz. She loved her family more than anything and had no patience for fakeness. Our unselfish Haleigh was caring and loyal to her family and friends. She was always there for others, offering laughter and warmth even in moments when she might be at her lowest. Her Zen-like, peaceful soul and fun loving nature gave us immeasurable comfort and light. Haleigh was a talented writer and artist who adored her animals. Now we'll feel her words and see her drawings in the desert and mountains she loved to hike, feel her presence along with the animals who walk this world with us. Though there is a little less light in the world now, Haleigh never has to grow up. She will forever remain a teenager. Aside from those already mentioned, Haleigh is survived by her grandfather, James Neal, of La Luz; her grandmother Marie Jacob of Colorado; her aunts Darlin Neal of Florida and Sue Jacob of Colorado; her uncles Jamie, David and Joey Neal of New Mexico and John Jacob of Colorado; loving extended family Josh Storm, Christian Gardin of La Luz; and numerous cousins. Cremation has already taken place at PCS. A celebration of Haleigh's life will be celebrated at a later time. The Neal family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to handle the arrangements. To sign the online register book, please visit www.alamogordofuneralhome.org

She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Madison, Koren, Emily, Sammy, Reese, Kiera, Rachel, Colton and Matthew. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Helma Neudorf Zukas of Sunset Beach, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Heinz Neudorf. In February of 1940, she graduated from High School in Hawthorne, California, and thereafter attended business school. During World War II she worked for Northrup Aircraft Company in the payroll department. She also worked at a furniture manufacturing company making ailerons and rudder tabs for fighter planes. Louise enjoyed music very much and taught herself to play the piano at the age of four, and later learned to play the accordion. In 1953 she met and married the love of her life, Heinz Neudorf in Hawthorne, California. They moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico, where Heinz worked at Holloman for Hughes Aircraft. They lived in High Rolls, New Mexico, for the first few years of their marriage. They were eventually able to obtain a home in Alamogordo, where their two sons were born. Louise and Heinz traveled extensively with their two sons and their dog, Baron, in their small travel trailer. Shortly after her and Heinz's 15th wedding anniversary, Heinz died from a brain tumor. Louise was left with two very active and independent young boys, which she raised with much love and devotion. In her later years she enjoyed camping and fishing with her family at Elephant Butte Lake, as well as spending time in the mountains at her son's cabin in Timberon, New Mexico. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and puzzle work. Her family will truly miss her. There will be a graveside service for Louise at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Heinz. The service will take place on Friday, June 12, 2015, at 10 a.m. The Neudorf family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
