Martinez, Susan
On June 3, 2015, Susan Martinez, 53, received a call to meet her Creator from Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, Texas after a brief courageous battle with a form of cancer of the brain. She was born on October 14, 1961 in Denver, Colorado to Andres and Marcella (Robles) Amaya. Susan attended Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, Texas. Shortly after, she discovered her niche in the insurance industry and began her journey with Aetna Insurance Company in Houston, Texas in 1984 and became a Multi-Line Senior Rater until 1991. Susan began to explore Multi-Line underwriting at Kemper Insurance Company in Houston and became an underwriting assistant and technician in 1992. By 2003, she became a General Liability and Property New and Renewal Underwriter/Broker plus Marketing for Woodlands Insurance Services in The Woodlands, Texas where she also earned and obtained a General Agents License. In addition to her outstanding work ethic and accomplishments, Susan was deeply linked to the Lord and inspired others through song and prayer to spread the word of the Lord to love others unconditionally as she did. She came across all walks of life and would always reach out to anyone by listening and helping them understand that faith and prayer are very powerful. She would welcome challenging times as an opportunity to trust in the Lord as she believed no set of circumstances is too much for anyone to handle. Susan was a genuinely happy woman who would share her joy with others especially through song. She loved to sing and would sing any chance she had. She enjoyed seeing others smile and laugh because it made her happy to spread her love and joy which has left such a lasting impression on so many lives.
