Patterson, Carrol Wayne "C.W."  
Carrol W. Patterson, 75, passed away on Feb. 20, 2015, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born on August 27, 1939, in Lamesa, Texas, to Murray and Bertha (Russell) Patterson. He has two brothers, Keith (Joyce) Patterson and Randal (Donna) Patterson, four sisters, Jean George, Patsy (Damon) Box, Joy (Rusty) Goss and Linda Bearden. He is survived by his children, Barbara Cones of Clovis, New Mexico, Toni Cox (J.D.) of Willow Springs, Missouri, Theresa Durbin of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Gwynn Taylor (Paul) of Hurley, Mississippi, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary J. Patterson, his mother Bertha W. Tenney, father Murray K. Patterson and other beloved family and friends. C.W. "Dirty Bird" was a truck driver for over 50 years. His passion in life was story telling, music, fishing and bringing joy and laughter to all those he met. He will be greatly missed. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on February 24, 2015 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jason Cones, Dustin Brown, Billy Cones, Clayton Reese, Randy Patterson and Troy Patterson. Alternates include Kyle Cones, Gary George, Wesley Havens and Raydale Havens. Phillips, Margarita R. (Romero)  
Margarita Reina Phillips, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 79, on Feb.26, 2015. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Margarita (Margie), daughter of the late Samuel and Ysabel Romero, was born on June 3, 1935 in Alamogordo. She was born in the same house that she had lived in for the last 49 years and where she raised her five children. Margie was well known and loved by many. She worked at several places throughout her working career; to name a few, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, The Ink Well, Otero County Courthouse, retiring in 1998 from The Golden West Pawn Shop. Survivors include her five children, Theresa Ann Phillips, David Allen Phillips, Becky Ann Phillips, Connie Annette Hernandez and husband Bobby, and Juno Walker Phillips and wife Julie; brothers, Raymond Romero and Johnny Herrera and wife Stella; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel B. and Ysabel C. Romero; husband, Napoleon Walker Phillips; three sons, Theodore Allen (Ted), Sammy Ray and John Allen Phillips; grandson, Mark Anthoney Munoz; sisters, Nellie C. MacNeill and husband Harry C., and Helen Romero; and brother, Samuel Romero. We would like to thank all the medical staff that treated our mother with loving kindness and compassion, Dr. Abood's and Dr. Korec's office staff, and especially all the ladies in the Infusion Center at GCRMC. Visitation will be held 9-11 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2015, at Alamogordo Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by. Following the rosary, Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m., with Father Mike Lindsay, Celebrant. A reception will be announced. Price, Mary M.  
Mary Mabel (Leith) Price, 75, a long-time resident of Alamogordo, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015. She was born to Charles and Ruby Leith of Fort Fairfield, Maine on Jan. 29, 1939. She was the youngest of seven children, six girls and one boy. Mary graduated high school in 1956. After graduation she worked as a secretary at the Coca Cola plant in Presque Isle, Maine, from 1956-1957. In 1956 Mary met Charlie Price whom she married on Nov. 1, 1957. Charlie was a jet engine mechanic for the United States Air Force at Loring Air Force Base in Maine. A year later they welcomed the arrival of their first son, Charlie. When Charlie Jr. was four, another son Mark was born. The family was delighted six years later when they were blessed with a baby girl Beth. The military took Mary and Charlie to new places around the world, Philippines, England and Spain to name a few. The family's military lifestyle introduced Mary to the love of traveling. During Charlie's time in the military, Mary was active in church activities, especially with the senior programs. The Air Force brought the family to Alamogordo in 1971, where the Price family eventually retired. Mary continued her work with Keenagers at First Baptist Church, where she planned monthly events and several trips for the senior adults. Mary loved life and garage sales. She delighted in finding treasures at a bargain. She enjoyed traveling and sharing those experiences with her family and friends, especially her grandkids. She was always up for an adventure, including rafting on the Colorado River, backpacking and riding trains through Europe. Survivors include her husband Charlie Donald Price; son Charlie D. Price, Jr. and his wife Lola M.; daughter Beth Ann Price. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jacob, Amanda, James and Aaron Kuhr; Duncan Leith Larson – along with numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ruby Leith, son Mark Price, sisters, Mirian, Ruth, Anna, Opal and Alice, and brother Fred Leith. The family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Alamogordo. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Pastor Garland Peaks officiating. Burial will be at Monte Vista Cemetery. Provencio, Tracy Lynn  
Tracy Lynn Provencio, 43, was called home to be with the Lord on Jan. 29, 2015. She was born on Sept. 9, 1971, in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Orlando and Irene Fresquez. Tracy was very opinionated and straight forward, one who never shied away from speaking her mind. She was Joe's "Rattlesnake" and the rock and strength of the family. Tracy loved spending time with the family at her brother Supie's house having dinners, barbeques, or just hanging out. Tracy loved to work and met countless friends through the years from her days at the "Y", Casa de Suenos, or La Rosa Steakhouse. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Joe Provencio; daughter, Monique Stephens and husband, Hampton; son, Jacob Provencio; the "light of her life" grandson, Kamron Drew Garcia; brother, Anthony "Supie" Fresquez and fiance Ysella Tellez; stepbrother, Rowland Fresquez and wife Syliva; stepsisters, Judy Avelar and husband Manuel, Debbie Martinez and husband Eduardo; nieces, Marissa "Bear" Fresquez, Sophia "Lovey" Fresquez; nephew, Orlando "Pod" Fresquez; "brother from another mother," Bobby "Liver Organ" Otero; and special aunt and uncle, Ramon and Mary Pino. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlando and Irene Fresquez and maternal grandparents, Nasario and Flora Garcia. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Father Carlos Espinoza, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family welcomes everyone to the Parish Hall after the graveside service for a dinner to celebrate Tracy's life. Pallbearers include Bobby Otero, Ramon Pino, Hampton Stephens, Chris Kazhe, Thomas Kazhe and Clint Casares. Romero, Pascuala Lopez  
Pascuala Lopez Romero beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother was called by the Lord on Jan. 29, 2015 at the age of 86. She was born in Jesus Maria Jalisco, Mexico, and at the age of 28 she came to Alamogordo, New Mexico, and lived the rest of her life here. She leaves behind her beloved husband Raymond C. Romero of 58 years. Daughters, Mary Helen Anderson and husband Jaime; Alice Cervantez and husband Albert of Artesia. Sons, Raymond Romero Jr. and wife Lori, and Roger Romero. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, half sisters and brothers, nieces, nephews, her two step-grandchildren and lots of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Maria Lopez, mother, Eloisa Lopez, and daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held, Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, from 3-5 p.m. at Alamogordo Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, followed by mass at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Smith, Peter T.  
United States Air Force, Retired, Senior Master Sergeant Peter T. Smith, 72, lost a long, hard battle with cancer at home, on Dec. 7, 2014. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran. His life-long passion for electronics and amateur radio led to many inventions, some of which gained presidential recognition. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Matilda Jane Smith, daughter Kathrine Irene Smith, son William Terence Smith and family. The service will be held at Alamogordo Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015.

Albert Jackson Sterling was born in Summit, N.J., on April 2, 1930. He departed this life Feb. 7, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Audrey M. Butler. Albert leaves to cherish his memories a son Albert Sterling II, two grandsons, Ryan and Reese Sterling, two nieces Hope A. Brunson and Carolyn M. Carroll, two nephews Richard S. Carroll Sr. and Jeffrey V. Carroll Sr., along with a host of family and friends. Service of celebration will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at the Chapel of Evan W. Smith Funeral Services, 201 N. Union St. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with formal services to follow. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

U.S. Air Force Retired S/MSGT Donald B. VanDewerker, 85, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, passed away on Dec. 27, 2014. Donald was born on Oct. 9, 1929, in Mill Iron, Montana, to Roy and Stella VanDewerker. Donald joined the Air Force in 1949, serving 28 years before retiring in Alamogordo. Survivors include his daughters, LaDonna Michaud (Mike), Denise McGinnis (Kyle); life partner, Alice Wilson; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene, and daughter, Terri Davis. A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Alamogordo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice. Von Husen, Raymond  
Raymond Von Husen, 73, passed away on Jan. 27, 2015, at his home in Alamogordo. He was born Dec. 25, 1941, in Minella, N.Y. Raymond was much beloved by his family. His survivors include his loving spouse of 50 years Janice Von Husen, his son Kirk Von Husen of Palmdale, Calif., and his daughter Krista Badger of West Linn, Ore. He also had three grandchildren, Emily Von Husen, 19, Jacob Badger,13, and Sarah Badger, 10. Raymond served in the United States Air Force and in government civil service as an engineer. He was active in the Military Officer's Association of America. His good humor and faith in God were always strong. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Grace United Methodist Church with Reverend Dustin Wilhite officiating. All friends and family wishing to attend may come. Worley, Alice Bernice (Robinson)  
Alice Bernice (Robinson) Worley, 91, departed this world to be with the Lord on Jan. 24, 2015, in Albuquerque. She was born on July 11, 1923, in Hugo, Okla. James and Lucy (Linkswiler) Robinson. Alice came to New Mexico in 1936 with her family. She met John Worley in 1942 in the mountains where he was driving a log truck for M.R. Prestridge and she was working at the "cook house" where he would eat. They fell madly in love and were married a short time later in 1942 and lived in Alamogordo until John passed away in 2013 and Alice moved to live with her daughter, first in Los Alamos and then in Albuquerque. They had two daughters whom they raised in Alamogordo. They had been married 70 years before John's passing. Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon L. Gray of Albuquerque, and Mona Kay Messer of Belen; four grandchildren Don A. Messer and his wife Beth; Tracy White and her husband Allen; Shauna Brotz and her husband Jon, and Terrell Gray and his wife Shelly – along with 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Alice was preceded in death by her husband John Allen Worley, two sons-in-law Don Messer and Norman Gray, her parents, one brother and three sisters. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home on Scenic Drive. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at the Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Robinson and Harold Trujillo officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers include Terrell Gray, Jon Brotz, Wes Robinson, Phil Lane, Kenneth Lane and James Robinson.
