Valdez Jr., Fidel - Alamogordo  
Fidel Valdez Jr., 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was called to his eternal rest on Friday, May 29. Fidel was born in El Alto, New Mexico, on December 23, 1931 to Fidel Sr., and Ninfa (Romo) Valdez. He was also raised by his Aunt Fidencia "Mina" Romo. He attended New Mexico State University, earning a degree in Electronic Engineering after serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy. On August 25, 1958, Fidel married Lulu Maestas settled in Alamogordo and later moved to La Luz. He worked at Holloman Air Force Base, as an optics engineer. Fidel is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lulu, his daughters: Elizabeth (Harvey Bordett) and Fidencia Leola Mina Valdez; his grandchildren: David and Rose Bordett, Tobias (Daniella), Zackary (Ty la), and Lorren (Maria) Montgomery; his great grandchildren: Remy, Izacc, Tobias, Aryah, Addie, Alazaya, Sophia and Catherine. His sisters: Irene Tafoya and Viola Martinez; his brothers: Cassimiro Valdez and Eloy (Helen)Valdez; his sisters in-law: Adelita (Carlos) Craig and Fabiola (Mike) Esposito; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Ninfa Valdez, his in-laws, Ignacio and Adela Maestas, and brother Jose Benny Valdez. Fidel was a 51 year member of the Knights of Columbus holding various offices including District Deputy, Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He attended 49 state conventions, two international conventions and was a frequent visitor to the K of C museum in New Haven, Connecticut. A life time golfer, Fidel, was proud of his two holes in one. He enjoyed Desert Lakes Golf Course, especially the friendship of his fellow players. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church, but volunteered his time to any fiesta or pancake breakfast at other churches. The family is grateful to Immaculate Conception Church for offering the funeral mass. Mass will be celebrated by Father Mike Lindsey on Friday, June 5 at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware St., Alamogordo, NM. Rosary will begin at 9 a.m. Interment will take place in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at a later date. Rudy J. Wagoner, 59, passed away on June 5, 2015. Rudy was born, raised, and lived in Alamogordo. He was a great brother and son. He is survived by his brothers and sisters; Sidney, Jimmy, Lydia, Jackie and Regina Robertson. He is preceded in death by Jackson, Chris and Dwight Wagoner. Wixted, Lori "Jean" Rabon - Alamogordo  
Lori "Jean" Rabon Wixted, 54, lost a long-fought battle with a brain tumor on Monday, June 1, 2015. Jean was a bright ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her. She was happy, fun-loving and positive to her last moments; she will be forever missed by her family and many friends. Jean was preceded in death by her father, Dayton G. Rabon, and her grandparents, Ray and Dahlia Emens, and her in-laws, William and Nancy Wixted. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Leo Wixted and their daughter, Kaitlin, of Albuquerque, NM; her mother, Shirley Rabon; brothers, Randy and wife, Cheri, Jeff and wife Judy; Tim and wife, Debbie, all of Alamogordo, NM; sister-in-law, Jill Anne Adona of San Diego, CA; nieces, Kristy Rabon Alsleben (Matt) and Aneyla Adona; nephews, Chad Rabon (Paige), Chase Rabon (Laura), Travis Rabon, Chaney Rabon, Tom Rabon (Whitney), Sam Rabon, and Blaise Adona; great nieces Lexi, Brooke, Mia and Paisley; great-nephews, Drew, Dane and Arlo. Jean loved and valued her family enormously, as well as her special extended family, Phil and JoAnn Griego, lifelong best friend, Terri Werner, and so many others who truly loved Jean. A funeral mass will be held for Jean at Risen Savior Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, June 6th at 10 a.m. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 5th, at French Mortuary on Wyoming Blvd. at 7 p.m. Pallbearers will be Chad, Chase, Travis, Chaney, Tom and Sam Rabon and Matt Alsleben. A celebration of Jean's life will be held Sunday, June 7 starting at 6:30 p.m. until sundown (Jean's favorite time of day) in the pecan orchard at 9 Piedra Road. Private interment will take place in Alamogordo at the Monte Vista Cemetery on First Street on Monday, June 8th at 10 a.m. For those attending the mass and celebration of life, please wear or incorporate pink, Jean's favorite color, to honor her. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Chordoma Foundation. Arrangements are being made under the direction of French Funerals of Albuquerque and Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home of Alamogordo. Wright, Dorothy L.  
Dorothy L Wright, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, entered eternal life on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the age of 84. Dorothy was born to the late Grover Cleveland Jones Senior and Martha Stewart on January 27, 1931 in Augusta, Georgia. She grew up as the youngest of five children. She enjoyed bowling and was a lifelong NASCAR and NFL fan. On any given day she could be heard screaming and cheering for her team or driver. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Melody Rayhart (Gene), Bunny Mills (Debra), Lyric Stephens, four grandchildren, Casey O'Connor (Trish), Samantha White (Ovett), Katrina Hughes, James Wells, 9 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, one niece, Charlotte Hart, she also leaves behind a lot of other caring relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Herman Jones, Edward Warren Jones, and Grover Cleveland Jones Junior, one sister, Helen Metzel, her daughter Lori Satterlee, two grandchildren, and two husbands, Royal Mills and Ellis Wright. Dorothy's wish was to be cremated so there will be no services. She wanted everyone to remember her as the lively and loving person she was. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Alamogordo Hospice. The family of Dorothy Wright wishes to thank Access Home Care and Alamogordo Hospice for their loving care given to Dorothy.
