Bernard Francis Kosinski

Our wonderful husband and dad Bernard Francis "Doc" Kosinski has gone home to join our Lord Jesus Christ and his family in Heaven on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013. He is now at peace with our Heavenly Father.
He was born Oct. 3, 1941, in Corning, N.Y., to Anthony Kosinski and Joyce Root.
"Doc" was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force
and served many years thereafter as a contract logistics support specialist and concluded his long career as a civil servant with Holloman Air Force Base, Defense Reutilization Management System.
"Doc" was a very active member of Bethel Baptist Church, in Alamogordo, and enjoyed square dancing and fishing with his friends and dear wife, Joy Kosinski. "Doc" was a loving, caring and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to others. He was known for his witty sense of humor. He touched the hearts of many and will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joy Kosinski, of Alamogordo; daughters Tonie Martinez, of Logan, N.M., Missy Prewitt, of Portales; and Brenda Kosinski of Bakersfield, Calif.; grandsons Joshua, Michael, Tony, John, Nicholas, Timothy and Darrel; granddaughters Mandi and Chantel; great-grandchildren Marvin and Makiyah. He is also survived by his sisters Marsha, Bonnie and Judy; and brothers Bucky, Steve, Mike and Paul; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony Kosinski and Joyce Root and step-father Norman Root.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church in Alamogordo with Pastor Howell Scott presiding.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the Cancer Resource Center of Alamogordo or to Bethel Baptist Church. The Kosinski family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home. Cremation has taken Place.
