It was ordained:
Our fathers were brothers,
Our mothers were sisters -
They wed one another
Respectively, our mother, Mamie, to Ben;
Your mother Barbarite, to John -
No mortal could rend them asunder
Together we became their progeny;
Reveling in each other's company.
Two of you (sisters); nine of us
(brothers and sisters)
We are double-cousins,
So-called, and twice blest –
A special bond so unique,
This be a legacy, I think!
