Ida Harriette (Hair) Fellers, 90, passed away on April 2, 2014, in Alamogordo. She was born on Sept. 8, 1923, in Pecos, Texas, to Fowler and Sara (Hainlin) Hair.
She enjoyed ranch life in the Jal, NM area during her childhood. She graduated from Jal High School and received a Bachelor's degree from Eastern New Mexico College (now ENMU) and taught school in Lovington, N.M.; Jal and Fort Bliss.
She married Hoyt Fellers in March, 1947. They had three sons who were very helpful when the family turned to owning and operating motels in San Jon and Deming.
Ida has been a Methodist since early childhood and worked diligently in Grace United Methodist Church in Alamogordo.
She shared talents for crafts, needlework, music and art with her beloved sister, Ada (Hair) Rosebrough.
She is survived by her three sons Dr. Neal Fellers and wife, Gloria, of Alamogordo, Bruce Fellers and wife, Kelly, of Lubbock, Texas, and Allen Fellers and wife, Dawn, of Odessa, Texas; three grandchildren, Jason Fellers and wife, Kameron, Lacye Kalivoda and husband, Brad, and Timothy Fellers; great-grandchildren Maddox, Paxton and Harper Kalivoda, Molly and Henley Fellers, and Mikah and Madilynn Fellers.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Grace United Methodist Church with Reverend Harry Riser officiating.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers include her sons Neal, Bruce and Allen ,and grandsons Jason and Tim.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
