Inez Berg Carson, 89, of Melbourne, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013. Formerly from Alamogordo, Inez moved to Melbourne, Fla., in 2006 to be near her son, John K. Carson and his family.
Mrs. Carson was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Omaha, Neb., to Carl J. and Julia Berg. She grew up in Nebraska. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a bachelor's degree in education.
She married Kenneth Rolland Carson on May 4, 1945. Inez continued her love of teaching and taught school wherever her husband, Kenneth, was transferred with his work. While in Farmington, Inez was honored by the Farmington Education Association for outstanding service. Following an 11-year stay in Farmington, Inez and Kenneth decided to retire and return to Alamogordo, where they remained until Kenneth's death in 2006.
During their time in Alamogordo, Inez and Kenneth - "The Whistler" - were active members of Grace United Methodist Church, where Inez was a member of the church's "Happiness Circle."
