Milton Rowley Chester

A much-loved father, grandfather and life minister Milton Rowley Chester, D.D., of Pocono, Pa., left our presence on April 27, 2013, to "soar with the eagles." He graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1950, enlisted in the Air Force, which sent him to Alamogordo, where he found his wife of 54 years, Della Ann Chester. Ann preceded him in death in 2006.
Dr. Chester received a bachelor of arts degree from McMurry University, Master of Divinity from Drew University Seminar, and an honorary doctorate degree from McMurry University. Over the duration of his career, he served in 21 different appointments throughout New Mexico and Northwest Texas. His other responsibilities beyond his ministry encompassed board of directors for many charities, community involvement, committee leadership, professor at ENMU, membership with several civic organizations and editor of his book "On Eagles Wings."
Milt and Ann are survived by their three daughters Verna, Kim and Cene; six grandchildren Cami, Matthew, Aaron, Steven, Whitney and Dustin; great-grandchildren Carson, Kennedy, Maya, Jayceon, Serenity, Chesney and Lillian Mae.
Memorial service will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock, Texas, at 11 a.m Saturday.
