Richard D. Wilkinson
Richard D. Wilkinson, 88, passed away on Dec. 22, 2013, in Alamogordo. He was born on March 28, 1925, in Kahoka, Mo., to Harrison and Georgia Ruth (Rauscher) Wilkinson.
He was a World War II
veteran serving with the Army
Corps of Engineers. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star in Colorado and was a member of the Elks Lodge
. He retired from Civil Service at White Sands Missile Range. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and elk hunting in Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Wilkinson, of Alamogordo; daughter Margey Ann Wilkinson, of Las Cruces; son Don Wilkinson and wife, Dana; granddaughter Shelby Teeter and husband, Donald; and grandson Samuel Wilkinson and great-grandson Logan Teeter, all of Hobbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy Edelman.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Riser officiating.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Wilson, Jesse Carr, Gregg Rosales, Samuel Wilkinson and Donald Teeter.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.
The Wilkinson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
