Virginia Schalk, 76
Virginia Schalk, 76, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. She was born Nov. 10, 1937, to Ray B. and Laura (Gable) Halladay of Ruidoso.
After graduating high school in Ruidoso, she attended New Mexico Southwest Business College in Roswell. Her first employment was at Holloman Air Force Base as a clerk typist in the Vehicle Maintenance office where she met her beloved Elmer and married in 1958.
Virginia was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and led a women's Bible study in her home for many years. She loved The Lord, her family and her friends with all her heart.
She is survived by her son Alan Schalk and wife, Linda, of Alamogordo; daughter Cheryl Schalk and husband, David Rowley, of College Station, Texas; daughter Donna Bevill and husband, Scott, of Silver City; and brother Forest Halladay, of Michigan. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew Schalk, Eric Schalk, Emily Schalk, Sara Schalk, Jessica Rowley, Randi Murphy, Lindsay Bevill, Jodi Bevill and two great grandsons Andre and Braedon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, her parents Ray and Laura Halladay, and her brothers Carl, Rondell, Blair and Junior.
Funeral Services for will be held at 10: a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 at Grace United Methodist Church with Reverend Harry Riser officiating. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The Schalk family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the Funeral Services.
