Vivian Marie Nichols went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. She was born in Farmington, Maine, on Feb. 11, 1928.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alwyn E. Nichols, of Alamogordo; one son David and his wife, Diane, of Alamogordo; three daughters Nancy Weaver, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Pamela Nichols, of Alamogordo, and Diane Heyward, of Lemitar, N.M.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great number of special friends.
Vivian fully and lovingly gave 67 years of her life to her home, family, church and a great multitude of friends. She loved her country, loved to travel and had visited 49 of the 50 states. She was a much loved member of Ruidoso Baptist Church, the Retreads Motorcycle Club and the National Rifle Association of America.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Ruidoso Baptist Church, Ruidoso, with Pastor Wayne Joyce officiating.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery, in Alamogordo.
Pallbearers will be David Hutchins, Frank Potter, Bryan Swanner, Jason Swanner, Bob Vickers and Ron Wiggins.
The Nichols family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the services.
