Carolyn Ozell Huckaby Parkinson Hamblen, 70, went to be with our Lord on Aug. 28, 2013, due to medical complications, in La Luz.

Carolyn was born on July 5, 1943, in Winters, Texas, to Clarence and Elizabeth Huckaby. Carolyn spent her early life in Milnesand, N.M., and moved to La Luz, in 2006. On April 9, 2008, she married Bob Hamblen, in Alamogordo.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of seven years Bob Hamblen; her son, Wayne Parkinson and wife, Kelly, of Tatum, N.M.; her daughters, Tonya Parkinson, of Waco, Texas; and Teresa Stanfill husband, Rayce, of Atwood, Tenn.; grandchildren Madelyn Parkinson, of Tatum; Brook Parkinson, of Waco; Dustin Church and Amanda Barnard, both of Atwood, and her sister Diann Whittenberg and husband, Ralph, of Winters, Texas.
Carolyn was a devoted homemaker, an awesome cook, a talented craftswoman, a wonderful seamstress and a Godly friend of many. Carolyn was a member of the Milnesand Homemakers Club and was a volunteer EMT-I and Firefighter for the Milnesand Fire and Ambulance Service.
A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Wells Fargo bank in remembrance of Carolyn Hamblen.
The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
