David Michael Rajnicek, 50, was taken from his family and friends on Saturday, March 15th, 2014. He was the loved son of James and Cornelia Rajnicek of Waukesha, Wis.
He is survived by his wife Chandi Bankston-Rajnicek and stepson Steven Gattis II of Alamogordo and his daughter Alana Rajnicek of Hillsboro, Ore. He is also survived by his sister and brother Dawn Mau and Daniel Staben, both of Wisconsin. David leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, In-laws and friends who loved him very much.
David was born September 11, 1963, in Wisconsin. He moved to Alamogordo when he joined the military and was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base. He stayed here after his discharge and continued to work for the Air Force until his retirement in 2005. David enjoyed his work at Holloman Air Force Base and made many friends there.
David also made many friends and those he considered family were here in Alamogordo during his time here for more than 30 years. David became involved with Special Olympics in Alamogordo after his retirement. He made many friends there and touched many lives by the work he did with his stepson and with the other athletes. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched, but he will live on in the memories he created with each one of us and in our hearts.
Memorial Service will be held May 15, 2014, at 5:30 p.m. at Odd Fellows Hall 1400 First Street in Alamogordo.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that, if desired, contributions be made to Special Olympics of Otero County.
