Eugene (Gene) Hogan went to rest with his Lord and Savior at the age of 63, on August 8, 2014. while receiving treatment at the Heart Hospital of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

He was born on April 13, 1951, in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of Elwin Elsworth and Dorothy Rounds Hogan. He joined the United States Air Force at the age of 22 and served an honorable 20 years of dedicated service. He retired in 1993 at Holloman Air Force Base where he remained to raise his three children.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hogan; two sons Joseph and Michael Hogan of Alamogordo; a daughter, Heather Bruneau and her husband Christopher, along with a grandson Dexter of Virginia Beach, Va. He is also survived by his brother Brian Hogan (Maurean) of Liverpool, N.Y.; a sister Holly Hollice (Knute) of Atlanta, Ga., and a cousin Clark McHaffey of New York, as well as many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Mark Hogan, and parents Elwin and Dorothy Hogan.

Gene was an active member and deacon of the Cuba Avenue Church of Christ, 1300 Cuba Ave., where memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. Minister Al Maxey will be officiating.

He was active in the Food Pantry Services at the church and would appreciate donations made to the Food Pantry in lieu of flowers.
