LeRoy Cantrell Obituary

LeRoy Cantrell, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2014, at the home he designed and built in Cox Canyon.

He is survived by his beloved wife Loveta M. Cantrell. They were married on June 15, 1952, in Roswell.

LeRoy was born to James and Mary Cantrell in Oxford, Kan. on Dec. 28, 1932.
He joined the Air Force in 1951, upon retirement he worked for Rockwell International on the B1 bomber and on the NASA space shuttle. He was an avid outdoors man, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. One of his greatest pleasures in life was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Cheryl L. Phipps, Karen L. Cantrell and Wallace L. Cantrell (Melissa), eight grandchildren Kelly (Levi), Jonathan, Sarah, Amber (Chris), David, Cyrus, Chris (Becca), Michal and Josh, and seven great grandchildren Allen, Sabrina, Crystal, Daniella, Alyssa, Jeremy, Rebbeca. Sisters, Lorene, Mayme, Mary Ellen, and Doris.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers James, Earnest and Donnie.

Special thanks to Dr. Abood and staff at the wound center, occupational therapy and staff at the Gerald Champion Memorial Hospital, Alamogordo Home Health Care and Hospice for their compassionate care and to our extended family members Lucille, David, Dave, Dee and Jimmy Swope for all they have done.

In honor of LeRoy's wishes no memorial services will be held, know that we are grateful for all your loving support and thoughts.
