Alan Harris Lauder, 70, passed away on Oct. 28, 2013, at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo. He was born on March 22, 1943, in Highland Park, Ill., to Charles and Betty Harris Lauder.
He married the love of his life, Kathleen Frantz-Lauder, on Nov. 11, 1978. Mr. Lauder was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, and retired as a Technical Sergeant in the logistics field. Several years after his retirement, Alan was chief bartender at a Mexican restaurant in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Later, he was an insurance agent for American National in Alamogordo for a few years. He then worked as a manager for Denny's Restaurant in Alamogordo. Alan was an active member of the Otero County Master Gardener Association.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen, of Alamogordo; sons Charles Lauder, of El Paso, and Jonathan Lauder, of Alamogordo; sisters Carole Lauder Lawizski, Linda Lauder and Anita Lauder, of Anaheim, Calif., Sandra Lauder, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Arlene Lauder, of Georgia; brother Craig Lauder, of Oregon; and his four-legged companions.
Alan was a very likable person. He would take the shirt off his back for anyone. Alan will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Lauder.
The memorial service will be conducted at 2 p .m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Chuck Moon officiating.
The Lauder family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
