Anna Vieve Hendrickson passed away at Betty Dare Good Samaritan in Alamogordo on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. She was born Sept. 20, 1941, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur Gleason Messman and Lyska Genevieve Gragg.
While she was an infant, the family moved to their ancestral home in Enid, Okla. In 1968, she met and married Carl Hendrickson, then an Air Force lieutenant at Vance Air Force Base, Okla. They travelled the world as an Air Force family and settled in Alamogordo.
Anna Vieve was an avid quilter, making blankets for family and wounded warriors.
Anna Vieve is survived by her husband, Carl, in Alamogordo; sister Peggy Wood, in Melbourne, Fla.; nephew Tony Wood, in Orlando, Fla., and niece Christina Wood, of Atlanta.
Her family is extremely grateful for the dear friends and Betty Dare staff who made her last months as comfortable as possible. Anna Vieve's eternal rest will be in the St. Jude's Parish Columbarium.
The Hendrickson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
