It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, father, son, brother, uncle and best friend, Arturo "Tury" Valle, 61, of Las Cruces, on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at his home.
"Tury," as he was fondly known to family and friends, was born Feb. 5, 1952, in Alamogordo to Louis and Beatrice Martinez Valle.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Tury retired from White Sands Missile Range as a computer programmer; and was a long-time member of the Elks Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles was an avid fan of the New Mexico State University Aggie women's volleyball team and a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Those left to mourn his passing include his son Phillip T. Valle, of Hawaii; his parents, of Alamogordo; one brother Andres Valle and wife, Yolanda, of Las Cruces; two sister Teresa Herrera and husband, Manuel, of San Antonio, Texas, and Gloria Gonzales and husband, Rudy, of Fort Worth, Texas; as well as his special friend and mother of his son, Rosemary Lyden. Other survivors include two nieces Dina Valle and Vanessa Gonzales, four nephews Luis Valle, Danny and Marcos Herrera and Seve Gonzales.
At his request, cremation has taken place. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Rd.
A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware St., in Alamogordo. Military Honors will be accorded by a New Mexico National Guard Honor Guard. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
