Bennie (Salazar) Hoke, 100
Bennie Hoke, 100, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 17, 2014 in Alamogordo. She was born on Oct. 23, 1913, in Tularosa, to Alejandro and Erminia (Marquez) Salazar.
She was the most loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always there for anybody that needed her help. She loved to play cards, cook, go camping and sew.
Survivors include four daughters Veronica Lopez, of Fremont, Calif., Kathy Neale, of Keller, Texas, Shirley Haselby, of Alamogordo, and Diana Sanchez and husband, Steve, of El Paso; daughter-in-law Irene Sandoval, of Los Banos, Calif,; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Robert Sandoval and her husband, Russell Hoke.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Firiday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
The Rosary for Bennie Hoke will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home by Toni Gutierrez.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Mike Lindsay, Celebrant.
Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Immaculate Conception Church Parish Hall.
Pallbearers include Eric Haselby, Robert Neale, Bobby Salazar, Michael Salazar, Steve Sanchez and Darrin Adams.
The Hoke family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
