Betty Jewell "Tiny" Worrell, 79, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, in Alamogordo. She was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Slidell, Texas, to Valmer and Angeline McKinney.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Anne Carlsen, of La Luz, and Carol Kirksey, of Alta Loma, Calif.; grandson Michael Kirksey, of Alta Loma; three sisters, Lucille Huckabay, of Keller, Texas, Dean Collins of Amarillo, Texas, and Gladys Williams, of Farmington; former husband Everett F. Leggett, of La Luz; 27 nieces and nephews; and many more great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Valmer and Angeline McKinney; three brothers, Don, Cecil and Gene McKinney; four sisters, Ruby Davis, Irene Wilcox, Marie Goodwin and Fay Izack; and husband Lynn D. Worrell.
Betty was a loving wife, mother and sister who loved her family dearly.
She was a housewife who loved taking care of her family and spending time in her garden. She will be dearly missed.
The Worrell family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
