Chrissie Andrew Stromberg Jr.  Obituary
Chris Stromberg, businessman and owner of Trading Post Antiques in Carrizozo, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2013, after a long illness. Chris was born in Vici, Okla., Feb. 25, 1924. Chris was a Pearl Harbor survivor at age 17, while in the U.S. Navy, in which he proudly served during World War II.
Chris was survived by his wife, Maria A. Stromberg, and two sons by a prior marriage, Larry, wife, Lorraine; and James, wife, Gaye; and twelve grandchildren. Chris also was survived by his brother, Ronald, who gives Chris credit for helping him finish high school and further his education and a favorite nephew, also named Chris Stromberg and by twelve additional nieces and nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Chrissie Andrew, Sr. and Arta Mae Pierce Stromberg, a brother, Pierce (Pat), two sisters, Vonda Ruth and Edra Hastings, and a prior wife, Carole Ann.
A graveside service and interment will be held at Fort Stanton Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
