Eli Samuel Moore, 31, of Las Cruces, was born March 15, 1982, in Ruidoso, to proud parents Douglas L. Moore and Vanessa J. Moore.
Raised in Alamogordo, he graduated from Alamogordo High School in 2000. Eli followed his passion for art to Tucson, Ariz., where he graduated from the Art Institute with a degree in art graphics.
Throughout his life he choose a path that was uniquely his own. His presence was that of a great song, he could calm your soul and lift your spirits. Eli's passions in life were art, music, guitars, flying, fun, family and friends. He was the life of the party and friend to all.
On Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, our cherished Eli fell asleep at his home in Las Cruces. Monday he awoke in the Kingdom of Heaven, succumbing to his sleep apnea he went peacefully into the night. While Eli's optimism and fun loving spirit will be forever missed, we rest easy knowing he has brightened the heavens and will be serenading the Lord with an awesome guitar riff.
Eli is survived by his parents Douglas L. Moore, Vanessa J. Fulmer and Deborah D. Moore; his brothers Joshua L. Moore, Abraham D. Moore and Cody L. Craig; his grandparents John and Bettie Everitt, Norman and Joy Lane; and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by many family and friends that will have the pleasure of his extreme awesomeness!
The family invites all Eli's friends to join in celebrating his life. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the First Assembly Worship Center on 10th Street and Florida Avenue, in Alamogordo, with a remembrance wake directly following at #80 Calle de Paz, in Alamogordo.
The Moore family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
