Frederick 0. Tyler passed away on Feb. 14, 2014, leaving the love of his life, Katherine M. Brusuelas Tyler, in Ocean Springs, Miss. He was born on July 4, 1950, the eldest of 10 children from Ruth and Steve Tyler, deceased.
He also leaves behind their four children: Felicia and Byron Stevens, Michelle Johnson, Frederick J. Tyler, and Rebecca and Lance Miller; 11 grandchildren Marishia, Genesis, Rebekah, Serenity and Christian Johnson, Isaiah and Jacob Stevens, and Marquez, Jaelyn, Milena and Gabriel Miller; sisters Debra and Ben Saenz, Patsy and Nick Brusuelas, Vicky and Kevin McKinney, Loretta and Tom Bregler, Laura and Andy Sainz, and Brenda and C.J. Yousif; and brothers Ron Tyler, Steve Tyler, and Lawrence and Dorrie Tyler.
Fred led a very busy life in his community in Tularosa. He was serving as a Village Trustee. He was active at St. Francis de Paula Church as a finance adviser, Liturgy reader and a Mayordomo in the past. Many young men knew him as a scout master. He founded and led the Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium with Tina Cordova.
He worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service for 35 years. He and his family moved 14 times before returning back home where he became a pecan and grape farmer.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at the church with Father Carlos Espinoza, Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Saenz, Kevin McKinney, C.J. Yousif, Cody Sampson, Andy Sainz and Jeremy Saenz.
The Tyler family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
