H. Clark Christian, 85, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, in Alamogordo. He was born in Crowell, Texas, on Aug. 4, 1927, to Jim and Mary Alice (Jones) Christian.

Mr. Christian was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He retired as a manager of Home Furniture for 25 years. He was a member of the Breakfast Lions Club. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and served on the administrative board. His ministry was the Shared Table on Saturdays in Fellowship Hall.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth, of the family home; sons Nathan Christian and wife, Kim, of Vernon, Texas, and Scott P. Simmons and girlfriend, Laura, of Albuquerque; daughter Kari Simmons Vickerman and husband, Steve, of Albuquerque; granddaughters Jill Christian, of Vernon, and Melanie Christian Yoes and husband, Joe, of Austin, Texas; grandson Aaron Greenwood, of San Antonio; a nephew he helped raise as his own son, Steven Krzyzyk, of Chicago; and sisters-in-law Audrey Christian, of Vernon, and Edna Christian, of Iowa Park, Texas.
He had many friends, including his school day friend of 85 years Cecil Davis and his wife, Helen, of Crowell.
He was preceded in death by his sister Beulah Borton; brothers George, Jay, Victor and Otto Christian; and sister-in-law Maude Christian.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Grace United Methodist Church, 16th Street and Cuba Avenue, with Pastor Harry Riser officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to assist with expenses.
The Christian family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
