Leo Mallory, 74, a long-time resident of Alamogordo, was born June 25, 1938, in Oxford, N.C. He fell asleep in death Friday, March 15, 2013.

Leo graduated from high school in May 1956. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in June 1956. During his service, Leo received a number of awards. To mention a few: Air Force Achievement Award, Air Force Meritorious Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
He also served in Vietnam. He retired from the military in June 1976, and later worked for Raytheon Electronics and the NCO Club Systems.
He attended New Hope Full Gospel Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernestine and William Mallory; four brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Dessie, and their daughter Cheryl Lynette Mallory, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; son Gregory Thomas Mallory and wife, Fern Denise Foreman; grandchildren Gregory T. Mallory II and Janae E. Martinez and her husband, Dominic Martinez; great-grandchildren Tamaria Martinez, Dominic Martinez II, Mallory Martinez and Jacquese Salas, all of Albuquerque; three sisters Evelyn Marie Downey, of North Carolina, Ella Bumpass and J.E. (Peggy) Mallory, both of New Jersey; brother Paul N. Mallory, of North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews and in-laws. Leo fondly called longtime family friend Karla Wilson his other daughter.
Leo was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He always made people laugh and joked with everybody. He loved music and sports. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers.
He is asleep in death awaiting the resurrection into a New World (Revelation 21:3-4).
