Patricia Ann (Groetken) White 1932 - 2013
Patricia Ann "Pat" White, 81, passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, Dec. 13, 2013.
Pat was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Elgin, Iowa, to William and Gertrude (Braun) Groetken. Pat spent her childhood years on a farm in rural Iowa moving to Sibley, Iowa, in the summer prior to her freshman year of high school. It was there that she met "Mike" White whom she would later marry on Sept. 9, 1950. The young couple moved to Omaha, Neb., for a short while before moving to California where they would settle and had three children.
Pat stayed at home to raise her three children then entered the work force, retiring in 1994 from Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center in Lancaster, Calif., where she worked as an Outpatient Registration Admitting Clerk.
Mike and Pat moved to Alamogordo in 1994. They joined St. Jude's Parish where she involved herself in many Parish ministries; she particularly loved singing in the choir, caring for the homebound and bringing the Eucharist those in the hospital.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, "Mike" White, sister Anita and her parents.
She is survived by her children Kevin White, daughter-in-law Wendi White, Tim White, Kathleen (White) Winbigler, son-in-law Mark Winbigler; grandchildren Ryan, Alex, Bandon, Brianna , Tim, Amy and Jeff; and great-grandchildren Kody, Isabelle, Jeffery, Jade and Avyn.
Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, sister-in-law and friend. She will be dearly missed.
The rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at St. Jude's Parish, in Alamogordo. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated after the rosary at 11 a.m. with Father Tom Hoffman, S.J., Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Jude's Columbarium.
The family wishes to thank all wonderful people who loved and cared for her at the Bee Hive Home in Alamogordo.
The White family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation has taken place at PCS.
